CPCW: Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on their Destruction, 1993 This Convention aims to exclude completely the possibility of the use of chemical weapons by anyone. It requires states to never, under any circumstances, use chemical weapons. States also undertake to destroy any chemical weapons they possess or have abandoned, and to destroy any chemical weapons production facilities in their jurisdiction. The Convention establishes the Office for the Prohibition of the Use of Chemical Weapons to monitor and oversee implementation of the Convention. |
