HWC: Home Work Convention, ILO 177, 1996 (not yet in force)
This ILO Convention lays down standards concerning working conditions of workers who work at home, or somewhere other than the workplace of their employer, producing a product or service as specified by their employer. Countries must promote equality of treatment between home-workers and other wage earners as far as possible, particularly in relation to their right to join organizations, to protection from discrimination, to occupational health and safety, to remuneration and social security protection, to training, and to maternity and minimum age protections. When it enters into force, the ILO will supervise the HWC. |
