RWC: Rural Workers' Organizations Convention, ILO 141, 1975 (entered into force 1977) This ILO Convention concerns freedom of association for rural workers, covering those engaged in agriculture, handicrafts or related occupations in rural areas, whether as a wage earner or a self-employed person. The Convention asserts that all rural workers have the right to establish or join rural workers' organizations, and requires that states facilitate their strong and independent growth as a means of ensuring the effective participation of rural workers in economic and social development. The ILO supervises the implementation of the RWC. |
