WFRC: Workers with Family Responsibilities Convention, ILO 156, 1981 This ILO Convention aims to create effective equality of opportunity and treatment for women and men workers by promoting measures that will enable those with family responsibilities to engage in employment without being subject to discrimination, and reduce the conflict between work and family responsibilities. The term "family responsibilities" includes responsibilities in relation to dependent children and to other members of the immediate family who clearly need care or support. It proposes that the needs of workers with family responsibilities be taken into account in terms and conditions of employment, in social security, in community planning and services such as child-care, in community education and information, and in vocational training and guidance. The ILO supervises implementation of the WFRC. |
