WOMEN TALK PEACE: Radio Spots on UN Security Council Resolution 1325
IWTC produced this set of short radio spots on UNSCR 1325 created by the participants of a Media Advocacy Workshop organized in Nairobi, Kenya in cooperation with Isis-WICCI and Feminist International Radio Endeavor (FIRE). The workshop was aimed at establishing supportive relations between media practitioners and women’s organizations working on human rights, peace and security issues. The workshop brought together 36 participants representing 23 women’s organizations and NGOs and eight (8) media organizations. The participants came from countries such as Burundi, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Tanzania and Uganda.
The radio spots, produced in Swahili, French, and English, were aired during the UNSCR 1325 Anniversary Broadcast Marathon in October 2006 and are currently being distributed to various community radio stations in Africa.
